The Coastal Altimetry Community, that is the international community of scientists working on development and applications of altimetry in the coastal zone, met at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Boulder, Colorado, on 7-8 October 2013 for the 7th Workshop of the successful Coastal Altimetry series.
Coming at a time when the advent of SAR and Ka-band altimetry is adding further impetus to the field, this Workshop provided a lively forum for a community-led review of the science and applications of coastal altimetry, from data processing through emerging applications to new technologies. The workshop was held just before the Ocean Surface Topography Science Team (OST-ST) meeting, also in Boulder, so that delegates were able to conveniently attend both events.
