A) Altimetry in coastal observing systems (Monday 17)

A day on the applications of coastal altimetry data, alone or in combination with other data and/or models. This includes the use of data from the various processing and/or reprocessing exercises: PISTACH, COASTALT, REAPER, ESA CCI. Possible applications comprise coastal sea level variations, coastal currents, coastal wave field, storm surge research, assimilation of data in coastal models and surge models.

B) Technical improvements in coastal altimetry (Tuesday 18)

A day focusing on update and continued discussions on the technical issues in coastal altimetry, such as: recent progress on waveform retracking and Sea State Bias correction in coastal regions, improvements in other corrections, and expected improved capabilities from the new missions (including Cryosat-2, AltiKa, Sentinel-3 SRAL)
